The Bible is God's communication to us. The writers of Scripture understand themselves to be transmitting the very words of God. If the Bible is the word of God, then it is authoritative. For those who read and follow it, the Bible promises revelation of God and his will, joy, renewal, help in overcoming sin and addiction, direction for life and faith.
