Lamentations 3:22-26. Advent is about the coming and arrival of the Messiah and the discipline of waiting. As Christians in America and particularly in California, God sanctifies us on a daily basis as we wait for Him to act.
The lives of Jeremiah and ancient Israelites open the door to us as we picture waiting for the Messiah. Even though conditions were less than ideal, the prophet Jeremiah can still point to the goodness, faithfulness, and mercies of the Lord and he admonishes the reader to wait for God's day of salvation.
We too are called to wait for the coming of our King. So let us wait well and keep our eyes on Jesus.
