{Our apologies, the first couple of minutes of this recording were lost}
After laboring to defend the holiness and goodness of God's law, and yet pointing out its failure to enable us to obey God, Paul finally summarizes the amazing work of God to rescue sinners from their hopeless state.
God did what the law couldn't do, because our sinful flesh messed everything up. The law could point the way to life, but could give us no power to grasp it. So God did what the law couldn't do: he sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sacrifice for us--to be the one in whom God judged all our sin!
Because of this, and our union with Jesus by faith, we are now equipped to respond to God's promptings, to follow him and obey from the heart.
Thank God for Romans 8!!
