Do you see yourself as a complainer?
Even if you don't, this message will challenge your view of suffering. Paul the Apostle begins the second major part of Romans (chapters 5-8) with a rich discussion of how God graciously brings sinners into his family through faith in Christ. And now we rejoice in the hope of heaven.
Then Paul throws us a major curve ball: He says that we rejoice in suffering more than the hope of God's glory. Do you really get more excited about suffering than heaven??
The key to it all is to see what God intends by our suffering. When we respond to suffering the way God wants us to, it sets in motion a chain of events that ultimately makes the hope of heaven more real to us now.
