Abortion has been a controversial topic in America since the early 1600s. It came of age in the early 19th century, when there were few laws prohibiting abortion. More abortions occurred in the U.S. per capita at that time than today. That number decreased in the late 1800s through the work of tirless saints and citizens to educate and care for prostitutes, young women who were moving away from family into America's urban centers and others who were most susceptible to unplanned pregnancies.
With the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court Case, abortion found its way into the mainstream again. The in past 36 years nearly 50 million babies have been aborted.
This message covers everything from the biological status of the unborn, to the personal spiritual needs of those recovering from an abortion, to a rebuttal of popular arguments in favor of legalized abortion.
