  • Series: 2 Corinthians: Power in Weakness

Paul continues his defense of his ministry to the Corinthian church, saying his ministry is valid because God had specifically called him to it.  Thus, he continues to faithfully proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ in the face of much opposition.  Paul realized, as we all must realize, that it is the power of God that enables us to endure through suffering, discouragement, and times of difficulty--not ourselves.

Paul understood that by enduring through difficult circumstances, by the power of God, the life of Jesus was manifested in his life (the life and hope of his salvation); and ultimately, brought life and salvation to others.  It was through his sufferings that the gospel was spread.  Thus, Paul is all-the-more motivated to continue on in his ministry in spite of the suffering and hardships he endured.
