Paul cites his own example of self-sacrifice in an appeal to the Corinthians to consider living for others, not just for themselves. Paul is countering what seems to be an over-active "freedom gene" in the Corinthian church. But freedom that is overdone turns into bondage to sin. But every temptation we face comes complete with a divine escape hatch. Paul closes the section with the exhortation to do all things for the glory of God.
