At first glance it looks like 1 Corinthians 12 is about spiritual gifts. In the end it is really about unity in the church. The divisions that plagued the Corinthian church reared their ugly head in the practice of spiritual gifts and ministry. The worship service had become a circus of competing "ministries," everyone elblowing everyone else out for a shot at a spiritual 15 minutes of fame.
