Men's Ministry
Men would rather watch football than go to church. That's why Anchor's Men's Ministry seeks to develop men as dedicated followers of Jesus who grow into leadership roles in their marriages, families, church, and the culture at large.
Our men's ministry revolves around developing strong bonds among brothers, and discipleship in Jesus' way of life. It's ambitious, but so was Jesus.
We meet for "Man Night BBQ" every other month. Check the "events" section of this site for our next gathering.
REACHING MEN
If you reach the men, you reach the family. Research shows two things: 1) how hard it is to reach men for Christ, and 2) how much influence men have once they are reached. Anchor's vision for reaching and raising up men springs out of a scriptural mandate for men to be godly, dedicated to Christ, and respectable members of their community.
We challenge men to be active in our Children's Ministry and Youth Groups, so that younger followers of Christ will grow up with male role models that aren't wife-beating entertainers or adult children who just happen to be able to hit a baseball out of the park.
We believe men are called to step up and be loving husbands and nurturing fathers, that they should aspire to be deacons and elders in the church and leaders in our city. We believe they should engage the culture to show that Christianity is worth thinking about.
