Pray with us and dream for Africa.  It is a huge continent; it is ravaged by AIDS.  Poverty and the lack of clean water have resulted in preventable suffering and death.

SAVE DARFUR:  The Darfur region of Sudan has been subject to horrific genocide.  More than 2.5 million people have been driven from their homes.  As many as 400,000 people have been murdered.  Attacks on innocent civilians have escalated recently.

"AFRICAN WORLD WAR":  In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC, formerly Zaire) 300,000-400,000 women (from a few months old to over 80yrs) have been raped and had their genitalia sexually mutilated.  The violence against women in DRC is considered the worst in the world.

5.4 million people have been killed since the start of the Second Congo War (known as the African World War because seven foreign nations were drawn into the war) in 1998.  Though peace accords were signed in 2003, fighting and violence continue in the eastern part of the country.
