Treasuring Romans

Romans is probably the richest, most densely packed book in the Bible.  If I were on a deserted island and could only have one book, it would be Romans.  If I were looking for a summary of God's plan of salvation from top to bottom in one book, it would be Romans.  If I were to spend a lifetime studying only one book, it would be Romans!

The problem is, Romans is like a piece of "Mother Lode" chocolate cake.  You have to take small bites, go slowly, savor it fully, and then take all day to digest it!

This is why we're going slowly through the book.  There are so many deep and rich spiritual themes in Romans, and they're all intertwined in the story of God.

Like a treasure, the riches of Romans can only be enjoyed by rolling up our sleeves and digging hard.  Nobody complains about how hard it is to dig for gold.  They're digging for gold!  They expect it to be work.  But they do it for the gold.  We are digging for God.
